1. 馬鈴薯本身會出水,不需額外加太多水。 2. 水量增至全榖雜糧類材料的1.4至1.5倍,可煮出較軟口感的飯。 3. 煮完飯一定要悶15至20分鐘再打開翻拌,使米飯口感更佳。 4. 若使用熟的玉米粒,於飯煮好後再加玉米,否則易變黃而呈色不佳。 5. 香椿醬本身已有油脂,不須額外添加橄欖油。但要注意味道較重。
